Farmhouse Fresh: Homemade Sourdough Tortillas You’ll Love
Share
|
There’s nothing better than the smell of fresh, homemade tortillas sizzling on a hot skillet — especially when they’re made with your own sourdough starter. We believe the best food comes from simple ingredients, a little patience, and a whole lot of love. That’s why we make our own tortillas and skip the store-bought ones loaded with preservatives, fillers, and ingredients we can’t even pronounce. If it’s going on our family’s table, we want it clean, wholesome, and made from scratch — just the way it should be. We started making these tortillas as a fun way to use up extra sourdough starter on the farm — but now, they’re a staple in our kitchen. They’re soft, flexible, and have that subtle sourdough tang we love. Plus, they’re perfect for wrapping up some of our favorite farm-raised meals — like our house favorite: slow-cooked pulled pork from our own pigs, right here on the farm. Whether it’s for taco night, a quick lunch, or just a snack with a little butter and sea salt, these tortillas bring that rustic, homemade touch to every meal. Ingredients: 3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup olive oil
1 cup warm water
1/2 cup active sourdough starter (optional but adds great flavor!)
